The historic town of Arraiolos in central Alentejo region has a century-old tradition of handcrafted carpets. The refurbishment of an existing town- and warehouse in the town´s main square is to give rise to a museum and center of interpretation of this traditional craft. The proposal focuses on the careful restauration of the existing structure, making it also apt for its new cultural function.

Para a preservação e celebração da tradição centenária dos tapetes de Arraiolos, um pequeno museu é instituído. A remodelação de uma moradia e armazéns na praça central da vila permite a instalação do novo Centro de interpretação. A nossa proposta apresenta um restauro cuidadoso dos edifícios existentes, preparando-os ao mesmo para a sua nova função cultural.
