The existing school is constituted by a series of prefabricated pavilions, currently quite outdated. Our winning competition project allows for the construction of the new building while keeping the existing school in function, eliminating the need for temporary allocation of classes. The internal layout of the new school is grouped around a generous learning street, with spacious and visual connections to the common areas of the school’s program, especially the library, the cafeteria and the sports-halls. The exterior will be restructured, maintaining the platforms of the existing pavilions as a formal memory of the school´s past.

A escola existente é constituída por diversos pavilhões temporários, actualmente bastante antiquados. O nosso projecto vencedor do concurso permite a construção do novo edifício enquanto a escola existente se mantiver em funções, evitando assim um realojamento temporário das aulas em contentores.

A organização interna da nova escola apresenta-se em forma de Rua de conhecimentos (learning street), onde as áreas socias se agrupam ao redor de um espaço central, com ligações visuais e espaciais à biblioteca, à cafeteria e às salas desportivas.

A área exterior será remodelada, preservando-se as plataformas dos actuais pavilhões como referências ao passado da escola.
